I often return to unsolved questions in my work. One of the areas of interest is translucency, as in permitting light to pass through, but diffusing it so that surfaces, textures and layers, etc., on the opposite side are not clearly visible. For me, these material questions are tied into the politics of my surroundings, as they are emblematic of the lack of clarity and transparency as to who benefits when decisions of policy and control are imposed on urban communities without their input or consent.
